Dr. Abhinaya “Abhi” Perumbedu is proud to be part of the Apex Dental family and to serve the Clover community. Originally from Waxhaw, North Carolina, Dr. Perumbedu earned her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she developed a passion for comprehensive, patient-centered care. She believes excellent dentistry is built on trust and open communication.

Dr. Abhi is passionate about preventive and restorative dentistry, aesthetics, and functional comprehensive treatment. She is committed to lifelong learning and expanding her clinical skills through continuing education. During dental school, she earned multiple research and academic honors and dedicated more than 200 hours to dental research. Her research on early cavity detection using near-infrared imaging and artificial intelligence has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international dental conferences.

Beyond research, Dr. Perumbedu is deeply committed to community service. She served as Senior Head Coordinator of UNC’s Pride Clinic, helping provide dental care to underserved patients, and volunteered with Mission of Mercy and Give Kids A Smile clinics. She is excited to continue that commitment to accessible, compassionate care in Clover.

Outside the office, Dr. Perumbedu enjoys traveling, hiking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. A fun fact: she was also a varsity esports player at UNC, competing on the university’s collegiate team!

She looks forward to building lasting relationships with her patients and helping them achieve healthy, confident smiles.
